Colour Trend: Burgundy & Dark Brown

It might be fall/winter in other parts of the world, and burgundy and dark brown are popular this season (says Lydia from Lydia Elise Millen). As we're well into spring here in NZ, we see lots of soft colours like dusty pink, baby blue, and herb green. These summery shades pair well with deep tones like burgundy and rich brown.

From tailored blazers and boxy tops to flowy skirts, this is a great time to mix and match bold, deep colours with light, bright shades. For a capsule wardrobe or a conscious fashionista, incorporate this colour trend as an accent by wearing accessories such as a burgundy bag, a pair of sunglasses, tan espadrilles, and a retro brown blazer (from a thrift shop).

If you are in the mood to splurge a little, consider investing in a high-quality leather bag and/or a wallet in any shade of brown, like a crossbody bag in sand and a minimalist wallet in woody brown.

Styling Tips:
Add pink, blue, denim, muted green or warm grey. Add animal print. Minimal monochrome or play with different shades and textures of the same colour.
